4 Tips To Lose Weight

Tip 1 - Achievable exercise
Remember when you used to run around all day at school and then come home and play outside until you got called in for dinner?  Were you overweight then?  So what has changed in your life to make you overweight now?  Move it or gain it!  You can’t simply stop eating, so counter the kilojoules you take in, with achievable exercise to burn them off.  In addition to weight loss you will also become fitter, stronger, more confident, look great and feel fantastic.  Can you afford not to exercise?

Tip 2 - Nutritional advice
Celebrity diets, shakes, soups, grapefruits, pills, potions, high protein, low GI, fat free – where do you start and when will it end?  Food is crucial to survival, eat it and enjoy it but understand what impact it has on your health.  As the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing advises you, “Enjoy a wide variety of nutritious foods” and as one of our members recently advised us, “Nothing tastes as good as it feels to be slim.” 

Tip 3 - Social connections
Do your family and friends support your journey towards weight loss nirvana?  Negative forces can quickly cannibalise your efforts and stop you achieving your goals.  Spending time with likeminded individuals in a comfortable atmosphere will supercharge your efforts.  Keep positive and gravitate towards those that support not those who stifle.

If you knew how to lose weight and keep it off for life, you wouldn’t be reading this article?  Unfortunately though, the simple fact is that long term weight loss is difficult and without professional support, it can be almost impossible.  When seeking support, ensure that the person you are getting advice from is qualified to do so.  Dieticians, doctors, nurses, health educators and personal trainers are all specially trained to advise you on these 4 essential tips for weight loss.  You are not alone.
